Aulie-Ata International Airport is located 15 km from the city of Taraz. It began to accept first passengers in 2008. At the present time it is one of the most promising air gates of Kazakhstan. This air complex connects Europe, Central Asian countries and South-East Asia.
Today, big investments are made for the development of the airport, the runways are being expanded, and the equipment is being upgraded. Taraz has been recognized as a promising hub for the flow of goods across the country and abroad, so the airport Aulie-Ata has also become an important transportation point of goods.
The aerodrome has two runways, one of which is still unpaved. There is storage of fuels and lubricants located here, which makes it possible to fill planes at any time.
The technical characteristics of the airport allow to all types of aircrafts, including Boeing, Airbus, which are known as “the world's aviation industry heavyweights.”
Passenger flow at the airport is small, the airport serves the internal displacement, flights to the closest regions, and flights around the country, but the destinations in Europe and Asia are developing very rapidly. This is facilitated by investment, retooling of the complex and equipment for supporting flights from the ground.
